LINK TO PDF What is this?? Sooooo, I am treading a dangerous line right now but I am just going to say that I feel this is counterproductive. While I agree that white privilege is a problem that needs to be address, exterminated, whatever other word you want to use—this is….I don’t even know if I can find the right words.  Fighting anger and violence with anger and violence is pointless.  Just my opinion…*cue the attacks* I don’t understand this response one bit. If you think white privilege should be exterminated then I am not sure how eliminating the social construct of whiteness is counterproductive? Anger is a valid form of expression when it comes to racism and how that affects our lives. WE as in people of color should not have to hide our anger because people think it’s pointless. Anger is a great catalyst for change. While this poster is REACTIONARY and isn’t going to change the world or kill whiteness like the OP would like to do but it’s good to get these things off our chest because from there we can start getting productive. So what this is is a reaction to the bullshit we have to put up with on a daily basis, the bullshit Troy Davis had to put up with, the bullshit anyone with dark skin has to endure every single second of the day. ANGER IS AN IMPORTANT TOOL. This poster is an important step to healing, change, and revolution in my humble pie opinion.  because white people are so invested in their whiteness they can’t even tell the fucking difference. Killing whiteness and killing white people are two very different things. And I just know that a lot of my fellow white people will be offended by this, which is ridiculous, because whiteness is nothing but a social construct. It is because of whiteness that “Otherness” exists, so if we kill whiteness, we will kill “Otherness”. If we ever expect to rid the world of racism, first we need to rid the world of whiteness. At first glance I was offended by the poster. However, upon reading the responses and let it soak up I do understand beyond the words. Whiteness is a social construct. These identities that make up “whiteness” are not inherent or even natural, they are socially constructed. I think the choice of words is interesting and definitely attention grabbing. I can see people getting offended by this, but once you sit and think for a minute or two it becomes apparent that it is not an individualistic attack on white people - it is an attack on the social constructed “white” culture. Reblogging for relevance. Oh, my commentary on this was golden. I’m glad I found it again. It&#8217;s a bold statement but without an understood implementation of how to &#8220;kill whiteness,&#8221; I really can&#8217;t have much of an opinion on it.

It was a procedure day at this clinic, so there were a ton of protesters outside. Suddenly, a woman — this stately matron in a power suit — comes up to the group of protesters and yells, ‘EVERYBODY GET OUT OF MY WAY!! I HAVE A YEAST INFECTION!!’ and busts through them, pushing everyone aside, to get to the clinic entrance. Took any of the power out of the protesters. It was magnificent.
